Behind every business are the people who built it. From those early conversations about the business’s ambitions to the commitment that follows to making the business a success, many hours have gone into building a business that customers trust when it comes to their security systems.

Both with several decades of experience in the security and facilities management industry, Graham and Peter joined forces in 2017 to create GP-TechServ. So central is their experience to the business, we wanted to share a bit of background on our talented security professionals

Meet Graham Lineker

Graham has over 35 years’ experience within the security industry. Starting out as an electrical apprentice with the Department of Environment in the mid-1980s, after qualifying as an electrician, he joined the Government's Security Electronics Section, working within various Government buildings.

During this time, he met Peter, developing a lifelong friendship. He continued to develop his security knowledge, rising through the ranks to become a Senior project manager, responsible for managing high profile and high value projects of up to £2.5M.

Security systems solutions for the Home Office

In 2002 he was seconded to the Home Office to develop their security systems throughout the UK and Northern Europe. In 2006 he moved back to the MOD’s Security Services Group as the London and Southeast Projects Regional Manager where he was responsible for a large team working on multi-million pound projects.

Working closely with the Home Office commercial team, Graham delivered a fully networked security solution, including 250 camera systems, ANPR cameras and a personal attack alarm for the Juxtaposed project in Northern Europe (Border controls).

Home life and hobbies

In his spare time, Graham enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, indulging in fine dining whenever possible. He is also a passionate rugby fan, supporting Saracens and England and is a level 2 coach.

Meet Peter Brench

Peter also started his career as an electrical apprentice in the mid-1980s, working and studying towards a number of qualifications in both electrical and electronic engineering. On completing his apprenticeship Peter worked on a wide range of domestic, commercial and industrial projects.

He began his career in the security industry in the early 1990s when he joined the Security Services Group (now SSG). It was here that he first met Graham. At the same time Peter also served as a retained firefighter at Windsor Castle and trained and qualified to perform overseas rescue missions with the voluntary organisation International Rescue.

Installing security systems and manned guarding solutions

Peter worked for SSG for nine years before venturing out into his own electrical business which he ran for five years before returning to SSG as a Project Manager. Peter oversaw the installation of security systems at the new Home Office HQ at Marsham Street before joining the incumbent FM company Ecovert FM as Security Manager for the manned guarding and reception team.

Combining security teams with security systems

It was at Ecovert FM that Peter first worked on the theory of integrating both security teams and security systems and was invited to speak at a global security event on his approach on behalf of the International Maritime Organisation.

Caring about his community

In his spare time Pete now volunteers for South Central Ambulance Service’s charity by supporting frontline ambulance crews as a Community First Responder attending medical emergencies in his local area

Using his experience from his volunteering and in running critical services, emergency planning/response and security industry knowledge, combined with Graham’s unique skills, allows GP-TechServ to provide a unique service offering to both existing and new clients.

Security consultancy services clients trust

Graham and Peter have combined their experience to build a successful business that boasts a growing list of valued clients and notable projects. Their tried and tested process has proven to not only meet, but exceed client expectations when it comes to the quality of their work and the results it produces.

Devising the best possible security solutions

They start by developing an understanding of the client's concerns and the threats they face and then translate these into solutions that address both areas, bearing in mind the client's budget and goals. Graham and Peter scope out the design and cost of the system, and work closely with an installation team and the client to ensure the clients are fully briefed on the project throughout.

It’s this level of transparency and attention to detail that sets GP-TechServ apart and reflects the quality of Graham and Peter’s consultancy skills.
